CONCEPT:

Tamika's Fall/Winter 2008-2009 collection is titled "Modern Day Minnie--Tales of a Displaced Temptress". Her goal in creating this collection was to find a way to blend the old with the new. She drew inspiration from an array of eclectic sources such as Geisha, the big band hit "Minnie the Moocher" by Cab Calloway, and Madeleine Vionnet sketches. The story that she wishes to tell with this collection is a tale of a woman whose demeanor could be described as subtle fierceness, "Minnie the Moocher". She is feminine, a bit of a coquette, daring, colorful, yet dark and sultry. She is self assured, a master of seduction, and always gets what she wants. She is the Modern Day Minnie.

BIOGRAPHY:

Tamika Chontel Pascual, Chief Designer and founder of Exquisitely Eclectic, was born in Missouri amongst majestic rolling hills and miles of untouched prairie and raised in California, a hot-bed of sophistication, style, and eclectic beauty. At the tender age of six, Tamika expressed an aptitude for fashion sketching and a love for clothing. While completing her AA in Fashion design, Tamika Chontel launched her label Exquisitely Eclectic Designs and has acquired a small clientele, participated in a plethora of fashion and trunk shows, gained experience styling photo shoots and independent films, and is currently the fashion consultant for the "Miss Asian Sacramento Pageant". "Exquisitely Eclectic Designs is more than a concept, its a way of life. On a daily basis she surrounds myself with exquisite and delicious images, ideas, garments, music, and 'things'. Everyday she encounters new eclectic individuals from all walks of life. Her line is about unifying the human spirit through fashion, art, and philosophy. Essentially, Exquisitely Eclectic Designs is for all to admire and wear, for it is a line for the eclectic spirit."
